Our Somerset Cider Brandy is currently the only spirit in England to have a Protected Geographical Indication, or PGI. We also make award-winning liqueurs and a range of fine ciders including an ice cider and perry.

Every bottle has an orchard of origin. Every vintage has a new story of hot summers, freezing snaps, torrential downpour, thunder, lightning and invasive mistletoe. Somerset Cider Brandy doesn’t have the same wonkish, obsessive discipleship as single malt; it isn’t subject to the same online nerdiness and clamouring.

In the cider house there is cider and Somerset Cider Brandy to sample among the oak vats, barrels and presses – all the paraphernalia associated with 170 years of cider making.

There is honeysuckle, apple blossom and hawthorn. The taste is full of apple, with delicate white flowers and a clean lingering fruit finish.

For forty years Julian Temperley and The Somerset Cider Brandy Company have been reviving the ancient art of Cider Brandy production in the UK. In 1989 their pioneering spirit led to HM customs granting the UK’s first ever full cider-distilling license.

We grow more than 100 varieties of vintage cider apples such as Brown Snout, Stoke Red, Harry Masters and the legendary Kingston Black. We also grow 20 varieties of perry pear.
