Jan 3, 2019 · If you don’t have Advanced Security enabled, you’ll see a light blue box at the top of the Security tab prompting you to turn it on. Tapping Turn it on will walk you through turning it on. If you don’t see the option at the top of the Security tab, you can also turn it on by scrolling down and selecting Advanced Security.

The security router is a Netgear WNR1000 which from what I can tell is nothing more than another wifi router. I would like to know the reason for needing another wifi router just for the security system.

I have no interest in Advanced Security On The Go, I am a very light mobile data user who uses just a couple apps when I'm out and about and I practically never connect to public WiFis.

When you get a new modem and they issue you a new IP address you run the risk of it eventually getting blocked. The National Escalation Team at Xfinity has seen this problem before and 4 months were required to have the software company make changes to their firewall.
