Apr 8, 2020 · In reality there is a small break in the cable from the charger to the Surface. A slight movement of the cable can connect or disconnect it. All the faffing about with the freezer pack was just moving the cable around. The only fix is a new charger. Or I could take the thing apart, repair the cable and reassemble.

Aug 6, 2024 · The Surface Pro 5 was designed for 39W and is what the 1963 power supply provides to charge the device. The 1625 power supply provides 31W to the device and is slightly less than what is recommended to use. You are best off using the 1963 model. Hope this helps,
