Clingman is a structure in Red Dead Redemption 2, in the Roanoke Ridge region of the New Hanover territory. It lies to the northeast of Emerald Station and south of the Fire Lookout Tower. Clingman is a small wooden shack that most likely was used as an outpost during the Civil War.

Once found, the base is labeled on the map as "Clingman". Hayden appears to either be suffering from PTSD or dementia, resulting in some form of anterograde amnesia, leading him to be unable to process new information.

Dec 15, 2018 · One of the skeletons is holding a cross, another a flask. There are crutches propped up nearby. Best I can do is maybe they're wounded from a civil war battle. That captain who thinks the war is ongoing is nearby. Seems odd there not more to it though.

Aug 4, 2019 · Found one Captain Russell just south of the letter "V" of New Hanover. Seems to be stuck in the past still believes the civil war is going on. Can we get into his cottage somehow? I killed him in the process and his cottage door doesn't open. How do we get in?

Even the smallest of structures still hide little interior details, Clingman is one of those places.

He's the Union captain who thinks it's still 1862. Is there anything else you can do with him besides the very first interaction? I also couldn't find any documents, couldn't go in his house, and looting him didn't give anything special. You can take his Union soldier hat.
