Rangel Vega and his friend were driving to get dinner after church when two alleged street racers crashed into the young men's car.

LOS ANGELES - An investigation is underway in Van Nuys after a small plane crashed in a field in the Sepulevda Basin on Thursday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The crash involving a fixed-wing single engine Cessna was reported just after 7 a.m.

VAN NUYS — A fundraising effort is continuing in support of two 22-year-old men and church volunteers whose car was struck by a Mercedes allegedly involved i n a street race against a Rolls-Royce in Van Nuys, leaving one of the victims dead and the other critically injured.

As two vehicles were street racing in Van Nuys Friday night, authorities said, one of them collided into a car not involved in the race. Over the weekend, a man inside the uninvolved car died from his injuries,
