Three teenagers are among 73 individuals who have died from the flu this season, according to San Diego County’s latest respiratory virus data, a statistic that has prompted public health officials to re-promote vaccinations.

The county of San Diego is positioned to enter the debate about transgender students’ inclusion in sports. Supervisor Jim Desmond announced plans on Monday to introduce a proposal to have the county ceremonially throw its support behind a bill making its way through Congress that would bar transgender girls and women from competing in women’s sports.

A record 25.24 million people traveled through SAN last year, surpassing the previous high of 25.18 million passengers in 2019.

"This is a true sign of recovery and growth," said Kimberly Becker, president and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. "Each year following the pandemic, the numbers of travelers recorded at our airport has increased.
