Two Powerball tickets sold in Arizona and North Carolina won $1 million each, but just missed the $181 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The tickets matched five winning Powerball numbers, but not the Powerball, in the drawing Wednesday, Jan. 1, the national Powerball site said.

The biggest Florida Lottery winners in December - with tickets sold in the state - were two Mega Millions tickets worth $1 million each.

No tickets were sold matching all six numbers in Wednesday evening’s drawing of the multi-state Powerball lottery, pushing the estimated jackpot for Saturday’s drawing to $200 million. Two tickets were sold matching five numbers but not the Powerball Arizona and North Carolina.

The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $20 million after a lottery player in California won the $1.269 billion on Saturday, according to the Mega Millions website.

A Powerball player in California missed out on the $163 million jackpot but still won $29,466, lottery officials said. The ticket in the Dec. 30 drawing matched four winning Powerball numbers plus the Powerball, according to the California Lottery.

The winning numbers were 1, 12, 17, 21 and 58, with a Powerball of 1, the lottery said. The Power Play was 3x. More than 500,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000, the lottery said.

Three winning Powerball tickets from Saturday’s drawing were sold in Massachusetts. Two of the winning tickets were sold at a 7-Eleven in Quincy. They each won $150,000, which means they matched four numbers and the power ball. The other ticket was sold at Global Montello Group Corporation in Seekonk. It was for $50,000.
