This marks the team's first victory in this prestigious tournament in 27 years. The felicitation ceremony will take place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, as confirmed by MCA President Ajinkya Naik.

Mumbai’s last Irani Cup victory came during the 1997-98 season and since then, the domestic powerhouse appeared in eight more finals without success, the last of which was in the 2015-16 season.

It took 27 years for Mumbai to end their Irani Cup drought. “Special feeling, winning after 27 years feels amazing,” is how the captain Ajinkya Rahane would sum up Mumbai’s 15th Irani Cup triumph.
