Drone footage shows a winter storm that brought rare snow and ice to Dallas and other parts of Northern Texas.

Thursday brought snow to parts of North Texas and the Panhandle. Here are the totals, and when Texans can expect road conditions to improve.

Early Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for several North Texas counties. The warning goes into effect 6 a.m. Thursday and will continue until 12 p.m. Friday for counties including Denton,

Parts of North Texas have already seen a significant amount of snow, with more expected in the coming hours. Snow has been falling in Denton and Collin County for a decent amount of the day, while Tarrant County and Dallas County have seen less snow. Areas like Prosper and Bonham saw six inches of snow or more reported by 9 p.m.

Another brewing winter storm is forecast to dump heavy snow, ice and freezing rain from the South to the Mid-Atlantic this week, which could knock out power and close roads. Days after a deadly storm pummeled the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions,

Ray predicts 2 to 5 inches of snow could fall for parts of the Metroplex. Up to 8 inches is forecasted to fall in counties closer to the Red River. "Not all of this will stick at first but expect our first accumulating snow in almost a year," Ray said.

Parts of North and Central Texas brace for another winter storm this week. The Dallas-Fort Worth area can expect snow, ice and dangerous conditions.

NORTH TEXAS – North Texas is bracing for a mix of snow and sleet. A winter storm warning went into effect Thursday morning and continues until 12 p.m. Friday. The warning includes Denton, Collin, Dallas and Tarrant counties.

Snow and ice and snow are accumulating on bridges and overpasses of major highways, according to TxDOT. Motorists should drive with caution and expect traffic delays.
