Having not showered for days himself, Richmond mayor Danny Avula met with members of the media Wednesday morning with a blend of technical infrastructure updates and a warning that water may not be safe to consume without boiling it before Friday.

Water was starting to trickle back in parts of Richmond as-of early Wednesday morning. That's according to reports on social media (and Karri's faucet). The latest: In a 5am Wednesday update, the city said 12 filters and three pumps were operational — a significant overnight improvement in water production after an electric panel failure Tuesday afternoon delayed the restoration process.

The Ward Two Water District announced on Wednesday, Jan. 8, it is rescinding a boil advisory issued earlier in the week for all of the west side of Juban Road, as well as the east side of Juban Road from the south side of Cassle Road to I-12.
