Pro-Russia hacking groups have ramped up attacks against South Korea amid North Korean troop deployments in Russia, South Korea's presidential office said Friday. Authorities in Seoul said they have convened an emergency meeting due to recent attacks targeting some government and private websites.

Pro-Russia hacking groups have recently conducted cyberattacks against South Korea after North Korea dispatched troops to Russia to support its war against Ukraine, Seoul's presidential office said on Friday.

Russia wouldn't say if North Korean troops were fighting alongside its army against Ukraine, a day after Kyiv claimed inflicting "losses" on Pyongyang soldiers.

The presidential office said Friday cyber attacks by pro-Russian hacking groups against South Korea have increased following North Korea's troop deployment to Russia in support of its war in Ukraine.
