Gucci sought to recreate the magic of summer sunsets at Milan Fashion Week on Friday with a colourful line that at times nodded to the 1960s.

Just as the northern hemisphere starts the wardrobe transition from summer to fall, runway shows in the world’s fashion capitals seek to stir the imagination, and desire, for the next warm weather season.

During the first two days of shows, brands were eager to highlight their commitment to craftsmanship; from Fendi, which infused the brand’s couture DNA into the world of its ready-to-wear, to Marni, which created its own surrealist wonderland.
