Dav Pilkey became one of the world’s most controversial children’s book writers with the release of The Adventures of Captain Underpants. The book’s bathroom humor and silliness often caused parents and teachers to sigh heavily while their kids laughed themselves silly.

"Dog Man," a spinoff of "Captain Underpants" featuring the voices of Pete Davidson and Lil Rel Howery, opens in January.
