Five U.S. adoptees took off from Houston on Friday to reunite with their birth families in Chile for the first time after they were stolen as infants decades ago during the Augusto Pinochet dictatorship.

Five U.S. adoptees, taken as infants during Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet’s regime, are returning to Chile to meet their biological families for the first time.

Four decades after they were cruelly forced apart, US-raised Adamary Garcia and her birth mother fell into each other's arms Saturday at the airport in Santiago, Chile. Garcia had flown to Santiago with four other women born in Chile and adopted in the United States.
