Like many communities in the 19th century, when a rail line opened in an area, it was one more step out of the wilderness.

A Columbus couple, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sennhenn, were named Columbia County’s Outstanding Dairyman for 1975. The Sennhenns farm is 350 acres and they milk 60 Holstein cows.
