Planning to play games at 1440p? Or maybe 4K? Nvidia's new GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti GPUs are rival siblings vying for your PC gaming bucks. We've tested both to help you figure out which one is the better one for you.

At $549, the RTX 5070 will also come up against AMD’s new $549 Radeon RX 9070 and $599 Radeon RX 9070 XT when they launch on March 6th. If AMD manages to beat Nvidia’s RTX 5070 or come close to the $749 RTX 5070 Ti, that’s going to put a lot of much-needed pressure on Nvidia’s pricing.

A small handful of RTX 50 series partner cards have reportedly shipped without the full intended hardware as standard on the boards. It's said that less than 1% of RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards (or one in 200) have a loss of ROPs, meaning slowed down performance compared to what they should be able to achieve.

Nvidia's RTX 5070 won't hit RTX 4090 levels of performance even with multi-frame gen, but it works well for those who have a 1440p setup.

At this price, and with this competition looming large, I just don't know how I can recommend the RTX 5070 as a genuine purchase for any PC gamer without major caveats. The GPU at its heart feels like it should be the basis for an RTX 5060 and now the rest of market might just force that upon Nvidia.
