Texas Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales praised President Donald Trump on Friday, saying 80 Guatemalan nationals were deported from his district as a result of the new administration’s aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration.

The Department of Defense along with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported 80 Guatemalan migrants on Friday morning, Jan. 24, from Biggs Army Airfield, United States Representative for the 23rd District of Texas Tony Gonzales said in a post on X.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Friday the Trump administration has begun flights to deport illegal migrants from the U.S.

The president’s Day 1 actions included directives that fly in the face of legal limits on involving the military in domestic operations and the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship.

Texas, is introducing legislation that would require the secretary of state to consider making Mexican cartels and Tren de Aragua Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
