According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, the State Capitol Police responded at approximately 6:30 a.m. to a report of a break-in at the treasurer’s office.

As of Thursday afternoon, only employees' personal property seemed to be missing. The Department of Public Safety confirmed that there was minor damage to office equipment throughout the facility.
