Watching their losing streak reach six games, the Bruins enter this afternoon’s matchup on the heels of a 4-1 loss at Tampa Bay on Thursday. Mason Lohrei scored the lone goal in the loss for Boston, which has been held to just one goal in four of six games during its slump.

SUNRISE, Fla. — In the final seconds of overtime, after Sam Bennett was called for high-sticking Charlie McAvoy, David Pastrnak intended to send a cross-seam puck for Elias Lindholm to one-time. Pastrnak did not complete the pass. Execution was not atop the Boston Bruins’ list of accomplishments on Saturday against the Florida Panthers.

The Bruins have lost six consecutive games, with their last win dating back to Dec. 28 against the Blue Jackets.

Geekie gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 6:02 of the first period by pulling in a loose puck that deflected off Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola off a point shot from Mason Lohrei. It was Boston's first power-play goal in eight games.

The Bruins won for the first time in seven games Saturday, pinning a 4-3 overtime loss on the Stanley Cup champion Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena.
