Tirupati laddu controversy LIVE: Amidst the raging controversy over allegations of the presence of “animal fat” in the laddoos served as 'prasadam' at Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh, the Centre has sought a report from the Andhra Pradesh government.

In the dock over allegations of supplying adulterated ghee for the manufacture of the iconic Tirupati laddu, the A R Dairy (AR Food Products) in Tamil Nadu refuted the charges and asserted that its product is genuine and available in the market which could be tested for quality.

Devotees from all over India expressed concerns over the Tirupati prasadam issue and expressed their disappointment over the ingredients that go into making the laddoo. A devotee, Sachin Agnihotri says,

In a statement, Amul addressed social media rumours that claimed the company had been providing ghee to the temple. “We wish to clarify that Amul has never supplied ghee to TTD,” the company said, further stating that their ghee is produced from high-quality milk in ISO-certified facilities.

Amul refuted social media claims of supplying ghee to Tirupati Temple, calling it misinformation. The dairy giant clarified that its ghee is made from pure milk fat and undergoes stringent quality checks,
