Luckily, LeFranc and The Penguin are able to do quite a lot with that minimal space, conjuring up a grounded (if somewhat derivative) crime drama that examines how Batman villain Oswald "Oz" Cobb (Colin Farrell) became the monster he is today.

Now, the Gotham City mob associate is the star of his own spinoff show on HBO. And when the Oscar-nominated Farrell gets into Penguin mode, there’s no denying his transformation.

The actor reprises his prosthetics-laden role as a mobster scheming his way up Gotham's criminal underbelly in an eight-episode extension of Matt Reeves' 2022 superhero film.
