CLEVELAND, Ohio — A successful short yardage play popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles, called the tush push is being challenged by the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have sent a proposal to the NFL Competition Committee that would eliminate a ball carrier’s forward progress from being aided by teammates via pushing, shoving or pulling.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni called talk of banning the tush push play that his team has made a staple of their offense "unfair" earlier this week and took particular aim at arguments that the play was unsafe.

According to ESPN Research, the Bills and Eagles have combined to run 163 tush push plays over the past three years which is more than the other 30 teams combined. On those 163 plays, the Bills and Eagles achieved a first down or touchdown 87% of the time.
