Dozens of people were killed on Sunday when a passenger jet crash-landed at an airport in southwestern South Korea, with the aircraft careening down the runway on its belly before bursting into flames.

Boeing has issued a statement after one of its 737-800 jets crash landed in South Korea on Sunday, killing at least 127 people. In a statement posted to X, the airplane manufacturer said it was in contact with the airline Jeju Air and was "ready to support them."

The crash of Jeju Air flight 7C2216 on Sunday marks the deadliest ever on South Korean soil and the worst involving a South Korean airline since a 1997 Korean Air Lines crash in Guam that killed more than 200.
