Another group is suing the Des Moines Register and pollster J. Ann Selzer over the Iowa Poll published days before the 2024 general election on behalf of the paper’s subscribers, saying the Register “delivered the dictionary definition of fake news” by publishing the poll.

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) announced on Tuesday their decision to represent an Iowa pollster entangled in a lawsuit with President-elect Trump stemming from a November poll from renowned pollster Ann Selzer that showed him losing to Vice President Harris.

The Des Moines Register and J. Ann Selzer acted with “intentional deceit or reckless disregard" in releasing the Iowa Poll, the lawsuit reads.
