Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and CityWalk will be closed Wednesday due to the fires and extreme wind conditions.

The theme park announced in a statement that it expected to reopen tomorrow, Jan. 9 — adding that “safety of our team members and our guests is our top priority”

The wildfires devastating Los Angeles will force Universal Studios Hollywood to shut down Wednesday. The NBCUniversal-owned theme park intends to reopen Thursday, if weather conditions allow. The Universal lot, which borders the theme park, is open to essential employees only, with the studio assisting impacted employees.
