Fallow deer and sika deer are species that fall under regulations from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Cameron said, adding the department's investigators have been notified.
The deer seems to be either a fallow or sika deer, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency spokesperson Matthew Cameron told McClatchy News in an email. It also may be albino, he said.

In all likelihood, the white fallow deer was not albino but leucistic, a condition caused by an under-production of melanin. Unlike albinos, leucistic animals have normal eye pigmentation.
