The Kidde Smart Smoke Alarm with Ring ($54.97) and the Kidde Smart Smoke and CO Alarm with Ring ($74.97) are hardwired alarms with battery backup. They will launch this April at The Home Depot and come to more retailers later in 2025, according to Kidde.

While smoke and fire are always top-of-the-list for a smoke detector’s priorities, the best smart smoke detectors can detect many hazards, including carbon monoxide, natural gas, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and radon. Ring is branching out beyond the best video doorbells and home security cameras into another area of home safety: Fire prevention. The company announced that it's partnering with Kidde to launch a new smart smoke detector that will alert Ring customers in the event of a fire or smoke event in their home.

Ring is teaming up with Kidde on a collection of Smart Smoke and Combination Alarms (Smoke + CO) alongside a new optional 24/7 Smoke & CO Monitoring service.
