Another bout of extreme weather is set to bring even more disruption to the UK - just hours after Storm Éowyn wreaked havoc and was dubbed the 'worst storm since 1998'

The Met Office has issued multiple yellow weather warnings as Storm Herminia, named by the Spanish meteorological office, batters the UK.

But as Storm Éowyn starts to sweep in from the west in the early hours of Friday, parts of Northern Ireland will see snowfall, especially Londonderry and Omagh. By 3am, the snow will reach parts of central and southern Scotland, moving north east through the country as the weather front continues to move.

Storm Éowyn is forecast to make landfall in Ireland late on Thursday before moving on to the rest of the UK on Friday according to Met Office models. The storm will bring gusts of 80mph to coastal areas and 60mph inland with potential for a danger to life caused by flying debris.

A flurry of fresh weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued for Sunday after Storm Eowyn battered the British Isles with hurricane-force winds. Flights were cancelled, major rail routes closed and ferry services axed on Saturday after winds surpassing 100mph hit parts of Britain throughout Friday.
