AP Sports Writer (AP) — James White, who scored the game-winning touchdown in the New England Patriots’ historic comeback win over Atlanta in Super Bowl 51, announced his retirement on Thursday.
New England Patriots running back James White announced on Twitter that he is retiring from the NFL. The three-time Super Bowl champion was a fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin in 2014.
White scored a total of 20 points in the win, which is still a Super Bowl record. The running back also set a Super Bowl record that still stands with 14 receptions.
