While parent company Dell is doing a big rebrand of its entire PC portfolio, at CES 2025 Alienware is sort of returning to its roots by bringing back the classic Area-51 name back for its new flagship laptop line.

It's not a giant alien head, but the 80L desktop is roomy and ready for top performance -- now and down the road -- while the laptop designs are inspired by the Northern Lights.

But the 2025 Alienware Area-51, an 80-liter tower just introduced at CES in Las Vegas, finally ditches the proprietary parts in favor of standard ATX components.

Today at CES 2025, Dell announced the revival of the iconic Area-51 gaming laptops, which were known for their desktop-level CPUs and easy access for upgrades.

The Alienware Area-51 desktop PC, a line of high-end gaming rigs dating back to 1998, has returned after several years out of the game. The company announced the new model at CES 2025, describing the resurrected Area-51 as “retaking the throne” as Alienware’s latest flagship gaming PC.

The rejuvenated Alienware Area-51 laptop lineup includes a window to its internals. The Area-51 desktop is extra big to accept Nvidia's GPUs.

Alienware has been around for 30 years, if you can believe it. And to celebrate its anniversary for , the company has announced a gargantuan Area-51 desktop, along with two monster Area-51 gaming laptops.
