More than 130 properties, mostly homes, destroyed as Mountain fire ravages hills of Ventura County
Upwards of 130 properties – most of them homes, were destroyed and 88 others were damaged as the Mountain fire ripped through more than 20,000 acres, ravaging multi-million-dollar residences, ranches and agricultural spots in the hills of Ventura County, officials said Thursday evening.
Update: 7% containment reached for Mountain Fire in Ventura County
Mountain Fire initially started 8:51 a.m. Nov. 6 in Ventura County. It has burned 20,485 acres after being active for 45 hours. By Friday morning, a crew of 2,420 firefighters effectively contained 7% of the fire. The cause of it is still under investigation.
