Records indicate that the man who authorities say opened fire on Christmas Eve, killing one and injuring two, was just discharged from prison in July.

The suspect, 29, was recently released from prison years before his maximum sentence despite picking up another weapons conviction behind bars.

It's unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor, but Bouchard added he believed the shooting to be premeditated because the suspect discharged more than 30 rounds from an extended magazine.
