The Yankees added some minor league bullpen depth by acquiring right-hander Michael Arias from the Cubs in exchange for cash considerations on Wednesday. The 23-year-old Arias split last season between Chicago’s Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. He struggled badly with his control in 33 appearances at Triple-A Iowa.

The Yankees are still trying to trade Marcus Stroman and are willing to pay down his $18M salary. Should they save money there, the Yankees would have more to spend on an infielder — though don’t expect Alex Bregman or Nolan Arenado.
