Several people are injured after a taxi struck pedestrians in Manhattan on Christmas Day, police said Wednesday. The New York Police Department told USA TODAY the collision occurred at 34th St and 6th Ave. The first 911 call came in at 4:03 p.m.

A taxi driver slammed into multiple pedestrians in Herald Square Wednesday afternoon, according to police. The Christmas chaos unfolded outside Macy’s on 34th Street and 6th Avenue shortly after 4 pm, cops said. Five victims were taken to a local hospital in stable condition, sources said.

In addition to the 58-year-old taxi driver, the injured included a 9-year-old boy, two women aged 49 and four other women aged 19, 37 and 41, NYPD said
