Kentucky senior Lamont Butler, a guard who transferred from San Diego State last spring, has started 17 games for the Wildcats this season but is now dealing with a shoulder injury and is out for Tuesday night's game against the Tennessee Volunteers.

The Kentucky Wildcats are making the trip to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers with a two-game losing streak fresh on their minds. The problem for Mark Pope's team is they will be playing this game without star point guard Lamont Butler.

It will be a shorthanded Kentucky team that travels to Tennessee on Tuesday seeking to end a two-game losing streak.

Unlike Lamont Butler, Andrew Carr was unable to take the floor against the Commodores on Saturday afternoon. A back injury prevented the fifth year senior from practicing for multiple weeks, and on Saturday, Pope made the decision to keep him out for the game.

This season, guard Lamont Butler has proven that he’s vital to the success of the Kentucky Wildcats. So, in a game like the loss to Vanderbilt, it stands out when he struggles in his play and almost seems to be dealing with a physical issue.

Update: As it turns out, Andrew Carr will suit up tonight for Kentucky basketball vs. Tennessee. The latest injury report does not have Carr listed, so he’s at least available to play. However, based on Mark Pope’s recent comments,
