Target raised its fourth-quarter sales forecast Thursday after more consumers turned to its stores and website for holiday shopping — particularly on days known for deep discounts.

Sales for the 2024 holiday shopping season turned out to be robust and better than expected, as easing inflation on merchandise drove shoppers to buy, according to the nation’s largest retail trade group.

Macy's said on Monday it expects fourth-quarter net sales to be slightly below the low-end of the previously issued range of $7.8 billion to $8.0 billion.

Retail sales gained 0.4% in December from November, slightly below projections for a 0.5% increase, according to FactSet.
