At least five people were injured overnight in the northern Israeli city of Haifa in a barrage of rockets launched from Lebanon as Hezbollah and Israel traded attacks with IDF warplanes striking across Lebanon.

The northern Israeli port city of Haifa was hit by about five rockets fired by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah late on Sunday, causing damage and injuring eight people, Israeli authorities say.

Israel’s military responded with airstrikes on Hezbollah’s Intelligence Headquarters in Beirut, targeting intelligence-gathering means, command centres, and other infrastructure. The strikes also hit Hezbollah weapons storage in the Beirut area, leading to secondary explosions that suggested the presence of weaponry.

Iran-backed Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, the Palestinian militant group fighting Israel in Gaza, said it targeted a military base south of Haifa with "Fadi 1" missiles and launched another strike on Tiberias, 65 km (40 miles) away.
