The Atlanta Falcons closed out their 2024 campaign with a 44-38 overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers at home. After getting off to a 6-3 start, the team will finish Raheem Morris’ first full season as head coach with an 8-9 record.

With a 39-yard completion to receiver Drake London inside of the final minute of the third quarter, Falcons rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. surpassed his previous career high of 223 passing yards. He finished 21-for-38 passing for 312 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding his first career rushing score.

It was a back-and-forth offensive battle between the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers. With a Falcons win and Tampa Bay loss, they would make the playoffs for the first time since 2017. While the offense was rolling,
