According to various reports, Mougey has been among three finalists for the job along with Cincinnati Bengals senior personnel exec Trey Brown and Washington Commanders assistant

While Mougey is still young and has never been a GM before - a point of controversy to some - he does have some warts throughout his career. He championed the team to hire Nathaniel Hackett as the team's head coach. Hackett didn't even get through his entire first year with the team.

A person familiar with the hiring says the New York Jets agreed to terms with Denver Broncos assistant general manager Darren Mougey to be their GM.
