New wildfires have erupted in California as thousands of firefighters continue their work to extinguish other deadly blazes that have been raging across the Los Angeles area since last week.

As the fires continue to burn and the winds set to pick up again, B.C. is sending more support to California. Ground personnel left B.C. for L.A. on Monday. As Michelle Ghoussoub reports, they're not the only Canadian support teams helping to fight the fires.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order to speed up the process for debris removal following the deadly wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday called for expanding the special legislative session currently focused on President-elect Donald Trump. The session will now include efforts to “jumpstart” recovery from the devastating Los Angeles County wildfires and help with emergency response.
