Boston police are responding to a person barricaded inside a home in Hyde Park. The incident is happening on Hopeqewll Road about a block from Osceola Street. Police have blocked off part of the road and are urging people to avoid the area in Hyde Park this morning.

Police in Boston are warning the public about a “new text messaging scam” involving bogus alerts of parking ticket fines. In an advisory, police said the scam involves “fraudulent messages” sent to residents’ phones claiming that they “have overdue parking ticket fees.”

Boston police are investigating the death of a man who was found shot in a parking lot Saturday night. Officers responded to 140 Main St. in Charlestown shortly after 10:30 p.m. for a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a car, police said in a press release. At the scene, they found a man lying on the ground in the parking lot.

According to Boston police, fraudulent messages are being sent out claiming that recipients have overdue parking ticket fees. “Please be advised that these messages were NOT sent by the City of Boston,” Boston Police wrote in a release.
