Bengaluru experienced heavy rainfall on Saturday, leading to significant flooding in low-lying areas and inconveniencing residents across the city. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre reported over 100 mm of rainfall in several districts,

Following heavy rainfall on Saturday (October 5, 2024) night, several areas in the city were inundated, and 15 trees and 44 tree branches came crashing down. Teams from the BBMP control room and tree clearance units are actively working to remove the debris and restore normalcy.

According to forecasts, thundershowers will likely be seen in Bengaluru and parts of south interior Karnataka until October 9. The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning until then. Heavy rainfall is also forecast for coastal and Malnad districts until October 8, after which rain is expected to reduce.
