It's a matter of endurance and how detail oriented you are. There are interesting labels to read near each piece of art, but it's also fun to breeze through without reading those. That would take up to an hour, but to learn more and enjoy the work that the curators have put into the exhibit, allow 1-2 hours for the permanent art. I spent 45 minutes at a temporary textile installation in the center of the building before I even got started. There are some comfortable chairs if you need a break. The price is right, (free), so you could always split your visit up into two mornings or afternoons. Enjoy!
