We have just completed the journey to and from this castle from Bratislava. First get to Bratislava hlavna stanica. Buy your ticket from one of the windows. For two people it'll cost around 21 euros. Train leaves Bratislava hl.st 9:55 Arrives at Nove Mesto nad Vahom 11:05 Change Nove Mesto nad Vahom 11:20 Arrives in Cachtice 11:26 Get off the train and walk along the tracks until you come to a crossing and follow the path that turns right. This will lead you into the village. Then just follow signs. Be aware. The walk up to the castle is quite uphill so wear good walking boots. Getting home the train leaves Cachtice 16:34 (our return was late but we caught our connection) Arrives Nove Mesto nad Vahom 16:40 Change at Nove Mesto nad Vahom 16:52 Arrives Bratislava hl.st 18:05
