WEBJul 9, 2021 · When I finally got it loose, I saw that the liquid metal was all dried up and left my CPU and cooler in a bad shape. I tried to get off but nothing seems to work... Can anyone explain to me what happend here? As far as I understand, liquid metal isn't supposed to just dry up like that. Not even after multiple years.

WEBMay 2, 2022 · Liquid metal does not dry out. It's just metal. There's nothing to evaporate (dry). It WILL corrode aluminum. It can aesthetically discolor copper but it's simply a color change as the liquid metal has essentially "plated" the surface of the copper, it is still there doing it's job as a TIM.
